A picture postcard history
This unique book is a picture postcard history of American passenger carrying ships of all types, in all U.S. coastal areas. There are 220 illustrations of postcards, many printed in the 19th century, and some of which are quite rare. All types of self-propelled ships are included: ferries, luxurious Great Lake passenger boats, excursion steamers, great white Fall River Line overnight boats, and a few trans-Atlantic liners. Each Postcard is accompanied by a caption with historical facts, technical information, and anecdotal material. All the postcards are from the author's collection.
